Runway reconstruction at Skopje airport completed, flights back to regular schedule

“TAV Macedonia” is finishing the reconstruction of the runway at the Skopje International Airport on Saturday and by 5 pm the flights will start to take place throughout the day.

Construction work on the runway began on March 28 after the flight schedule was changed, ie the flights took place from 5 pm to 9 am every day, and from 9 am to 5 pm work was done on the runway, which is 2,950 meters long and 45 meters wide.

The runway was renovated for the first time since 1996, when the reconstruction took two and a half months, and the airport was then completely closed and air traffic was transferred to Ohrid Airport.
