UKIM staff stages protest demanding higher salaries and a collective agreement

 The Federation of Trade Unions of the University “St. Cyril and Methodius University on Thursday held a peaceful protest in front of the Rectorate of UKIM, expressing dissatisfaction with, as they say, the deteriorating material situation of employees. UKIM head Angel Ristov, in front of the present colleagues and professors stressed that never in the history of UKIM the conditions of the employees of the University were like they are now.

“We were patient for a long time and we understood the economic situation in our country, but our patience has finally run out. We must fight for our rights, for dignified salaries, if we don’t do it ourselves, no one else will do it for us. We are representatives of the scientific community. We are the consciousness and conscience of this society. We are here for our students, for their education because they are the future of our country,” said Ristov and pointed out that they will no longer stay silent.
