The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) decided on Friday to call a general strike in the public sector if their demands are not met by June 21, 2022. Some of the workers’ demands are the following:

– Signing of a collective agreement which will determine the linear salary increase of 2806 denars for all employees in the public sector.

-Returning the lost right of recourse from 2023, in the amount of 30 to 100 percent of the average salary in the country

“If this does not happen by June 21, June 22, the SSM will call on all workers, both members and all other dissatisfied workers, to stop their work processes in their jobs and to express great dissatisfaction or, as we say, to go on a general strike “, said SSM head Darko Dimovski.
