According to sources from the Prosecution, a pre-trial judge ordered eight days of detention for Lambe Alabakovski, suspected of setting the “Vanco Mihajlov” cultural center in Bitola on fire.

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Bitola initiated a procedure against one person for a crime – Causing general danger from Article 288 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

There is a reasonable suspicion that the reported 34-year-old man, in the early morning hours on June 4, caused a significant fire on the large-scale property. He poured gasoline on the front door of the “Vancho Mihajlov” Cultural Center in Bitola, put a fuse on the doorstep and set it on fire.

Due to flight risk, especially given the fact that Alabakovski has dual citizenship of North Macedonia and the United States, where he resided until recently, the PPO submitted a proposal to the pre-trial judge for detention.
