German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is visiting North Macedonia on Saturday as part of his tour of the Western Balkans.
Scholz will meet with Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski in Skopje, and plenary talks between the two delegations are planned. Kovachevski and Scholz are scheduled to hold a joint press conference.
After Skopje, the German Chancellor leaves for Sofia for meetings with the Bulgarian state leadership.
The topics of the meetings in Skopje and Sofia are expected to be the Bulgarian blockade of the European integration of North Macedonia, the EU enlargement and the war in Ukraine. Scholz will previously visit Serbia and Kosovo as part of his Balkans tour.
