In the first six months of 2022, according to the data of the Central Registry, almost 5,000 companies were forced to shut down. Most of them are from trade, accommodation facilities, but also from the processing industry. Economists warn that this year that number will be higher than previous years.

Instead of abating, the global crisis is intensifying, the uncertainty is great, which is why they expect other companies to go out of business in the coming months. The money, instead of aid, will now be directed to the repayment of loans with high interest rates.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the energy crisis, which drastically increased the costs of companies, have continued.

The largest number of companies were shut down in Skopje (1,766), Tetovo (277), Kumanovo (220), Gostivar (200), Prilep (188), etc.
