We need to give time to establish the findings for the “Zhan Mitrev” clinic in accordance with the laws and regulations. The IRL investigative story is of great help, I encourage everyone else to help the institutions, director of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (MALMED) Lirim Shabani told a press briefing on Wednesday.

Shabani at the press briefing regarding the Brezev case and the operation of the “Zhan Mitrev” private hospital, which was attended by the Minister of Health Bekim Sali, the director of the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate (DZSI) Irinka Sotrovska Buhova, as well as the president of the Medical Chamber Kalina Krivcheva Stardelova, said that no one is above the law and that anyone that violated the law will be held accountable for their actions.

Shabani informs that two commissions have already been scheduled, ethics and a commission for clinical trials, which will work on the case.

“It is logical to give some time to determine everything according to protocols, regulations and laws. We want to make sure it was as advertised. No one is saying there was or wasn’t a clinical trial. We say as the law says – if someone develops a clinical trial, it is sanctioned, and in order to be sanctioned it needs to be verified. The IRL story is of much help, I encourage everyone else to help the institutions. In the meantime, the meeting between the representatives of MALMED and the team from “Zhan Mitrev” is going on, the arguments are facing each other,” Shabani pointed out.
