With the Budget Review, the reduction of the budget for culture amounts to 34.6 percent, and that is from the program part. We made cuts or reassignment of funds from those items where we thought it was possible and where it would be most sustainable, said the Minister of Culture Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska at a press briefing on Thursday.
The Culture Minister explained that the program part of the Ministry of Culture suffered most of the cuts and informed that they are intensively talking with all national institutions if they can show a level of solidarity and allow a part of their program to be shortened because these cuts are made to maintain salaries of employees in cultural institutions.
