The leader of opposition party VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, stated that the consultations with the experts and within the party on the referendum question regarding the Protocol on the agreement with Bulgaria, “convert” to what President Stevo Pendarovski said. VMRO-DPMNE, Mickoski said, is in favor of a mandatory referendum.
“We are very close to the content that he said in public and I expect that if the essence of that referendum question converges, Pendarovski will come out publicly with his position and say that he will come out and that he will vote along with his associates, of course according to his conviction, whether we should continue under these conditions, under conditions of dictatorship, or under some other conditions as VMRO-DPMNE and some other parties think,” Mickoski said.
Mickoski is waiting for support from President Stevo Pendarovski and called all political parties, including the opposition Albanian political parties, as well as from the MANU, universities and religious communities.
