Only the people are the true rulers of their country. Neither Hristijan, nor Pendarovski, nor Kovachevski, nor Ahmeti, nor Sela, nor Kasami, none of us, but the people that are loyal to their country and they should be the one that make the decisions, the leader of opposition VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski said on Tuesday.

The opposition leader said that according to the Macedonian Constitution there are two ways to announce a referendum, but which way they will choose will be known when the consultations are over.

According to the Constitution, there are two ways to call a referendum. One is with 30 MPs, and the other with the collection of 150,000 signatures with a defined referendum question through the offices of the Ministry of Justice. Which of the two ways we will choose, we will see when we finish the consultations.

When asked if they will give up on a referendum because there is no consensus from other political parties and that Dimitar Kovachevski says that VMRO-DPMNE’s request is irrelevant, Mickoski said that they will not give up because the people are the most relevant to decide on their own future because, as Mickoski opinted out, VMRO-DPMNE works for the people and comes from the people.
