No monkeypox in Macedonia, says head of Infectious Diseases Clinic

The head of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases Dr. Milena Stevanovikj, in a short statement for Plusinfo.mk, denies the information that came out on Tuesday about the possible occurrence of the first suspected case of monkeypox in North Macedonia.

“In the last 24 hours, no patient with such symptomatology has been admitted to the Clinic for Infectious Diseases,” says Dr. Stevanovikj.

The doctor adds that if such a thing happens, in joint coordination with the Ministry of Health, as well as with the employees of the clinic, they will be organized, with the aim of receiving patients with monkeypox.

Alfa TV announced on Tuesday that according to unofficial information, the first suspected case of monkeypox has arrived to the country.
