14 migrants found on the Prdejci-Smokvitsa road, police arrest Shtip smugglers

On August 12, 2022 at around 10.15 pm near a church in the village of Prdejci, Gevgelija, police officers from the Bogorodica Police Station arrested D.B. (34) from Shtip, and at around 11.50 pm in Gevgelija by police officers from the Police Station Gevgelija, Z.V. (44) from Shtip, was arrested on grounds for suspicion of smuggling of migrants, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs on Saturday.
“At 9:15 p.m., 14 migrants from Syria, India and Pakistan were found in an Iveco truck with Veles license plates, driven by D.B., near a catering facility on the regional road Prdejci-Smokvica, while in Gevgelija detained Z.V., who was driving a passenger vehicle Peugeot 306, with Shtip registration plates, due to suspicion of his involvement in the crime”, reads the press release issued by the Ministry of the Interior.
