No new outbreak of African swine fever

Currently, there is no new outbreak of African swine fever. All hotspots with confirmed positive cases have been closed, in 3 the depopulation measures have been fully implemented. As of yesterday, 1,305 pigs were killed and harmlessly disposed of in the 3-kilometer zones, the director of the Food and Veterinary Agency (AHV) Nikolche Babovski informed at a meeting of the Coordinating Body for dealing with this disease in the country.

“In coordination with the Ministry of Health, the local governments, associations of pig breeders, the veterinary chamber, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and other institutions, in the protective zones of 3 kilometers and in the zones under surveillance within a radius of 10 kilometers around the hotspots, the ordered measures are implemented without problems according to the Decisions of the AHV and the determined dynamics. The measures for active and passive surveillance of the African swine fever disease are implemented throughout the entire territory of the country,” Babovski said.
