The HEMA association, in cooperation with the Football National Team of Macedonia (FFM) and the patient organization for lymphoma Lymphoma Australia, for the fifth time marks September as the world month for raising awareness of malignant blood diseases and appeals to citizens for regular examinations and to institutions to enable access to innovative medicines for people with types of leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
“The largest number of innovative drugs is used in malignant blood diseases, with clearly improved efficiency. There should be a firm determination to follow the world’s achievements as soon as possible, and we are in a situation where the positive list of medicines has not been renewed for 17 years,” the Association says.
According to the association, a handicap is also the fact that they do not become part of the so-called clinical studies, which offer the option of treatment with innovative drugs when they are in the clinical trial phase, and this is one of the basic recommendations of the world’s relevant professional associations, for patients who have become resistant to standard accepted treatment protocols.
