Macedonian companies are now paying up to 800 euros per MWh, and energy capacities of 400 to 500 megawatts are unused. TPP Negotino operates at half capacity and of the maximum 220 megawatts it operates with only 90. The price of electricity production at TPP Negotino is over 150 euros per MWh. By using simple math, it can be determined that if the entire capacity is used, i.e. the remaining 130 MW, an additional production of 3,120 MW will be reached. per day, and thus the saving of the economy will be a million euros per day.
This is money that is now used to buy expensive electricity from abroad. Practically, this way of working would have saved thousands of companies from closing and millions of euros of foreign exchange from outflow, said the spokesperson of VMRO-DPMNE Marija Miteva.
