The financial situation of veterinary societies is alarming. Their survival is in question, and this may have unforeseeable implications on animal husbandry, as well as on dealing with current and future health challenges, warns the Veterinary Chamber.

Due to this situation, the Chamber reacted once again with a letter to the Prime Minister DimitarKovachevski and to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management LjupchoNikolovski.

The Chamber reminds that “the key reasons for the problems that threaten the collapse of the sector are the low and unrealistic prices for activities of public interest that have been minimally corrected for a decade, as well as the delay in the start of activities of public interest in the current year 2022 due to the delay of the enactment of the Annual Animal Health Protection Order, passed in May 2022, and subsequently, the selection (through public procurement) of an authorized laboratory for diagnostic testing, which ended in August 2022.”
