I can understand, but I cannot justify the opening of the cultural club under the name Tsar Boris III, while being surprised that it will cause a sharp reaction. It’s like grabbing a dog by the tail and being surprised when it bites you, says Bulgarian historian Ivan Ilchev.
In a TV interview, Ilchev pointed out that cultural clubs in Macedonia should in the future be named with more neutral names and represent bridges of cooperation.
“No club of Bulgarians in Macedonia will be accepted, but it should be tried with names like bridge, brotherhood, friendship, etc. ,” says the historian. Ilchev is firm in his assertion that the Bulgarians are not brothers with the Macedonians.
