The textile sector is slowly fading away, the trend of reducing the number of employees continues. Annually, this sector loses one to three percent of its workforce. The owners of textile confections are of the opinion that the energy crisis has further increased their costs, and as they say, without more money, there is no young workforce either. Angel Dimitrov from the Organization of Employers says that the salvation lies in restructuring and that way jobs will be saved.

“I think the number of workers will continue to fall. But on the other hand, textile companies will have to think about their own brands, about their own full-scale production where the added value will be higher, and thus the funds they will receive from outside”, says Dimitrov.

In the country, however, there are textile and fashion brands that conquer the regional markets as well.
