The Republic of North Macedonia retained the credit rating BB+ with a negative outlook, which is the result of the implementation of good governance policies, a credible and coherent macroeconomic and financial policy consistent with the long-maintained fixed exchange rate. The credit rating BB+ with a negative outlook has been confirmed in the latest report of the Fitch credit rating agency.
It is particularly significant for the Republic of North Macedonia that the credit rating, which is the result of the implementation of good policies, has been maintained in conditions of great influence from the global price and energy crisis.
Fitch states in the report that the beginning of the integration process with the EU will strengthen the policy, support exports and the inflow of foreign direct investments, which will balance the negative impacts of the conflict in Ukraine.
