Bojan Marichikj is the last in a series of officials and ministers, including Kovachevski, who do not honor Macedonians from Bulgaria by attending the opening of the Macedonian club. They go a step further and insult them. Marichikj’s statement that the opening of a Macedonian club in Blagoevgrad is a private event and they have no obligation to attend the grand opening is humiliating, embarrassing and unworthy, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release on Saturday.

The opposition party says that this shows that this SDS-led Government is leading a subservient and treacherous policy. This statement by Marichikj shows that apart from the deserter Kovachevski, all the other ministers in his government are also deserters.

At the same time, this Macedonian club in Blagoevgrad is named after the great Macedonian writer and activist Nikola Vapcarov, and is in no way offensive to Bulgaria, as are the names Vancho Mihailov and Tsar Boris, which are used in Macedonia. By the way, the very institutions that Marichikj refers to allowed the opening of Bulgarian clubs with such names at a time when Marichikj banned the name “Macedonia” for the names of associations. Marichikj, Kovachevski, Pendarovski and the entire anti-Macedonian SDS have shown that they do not care about Macedonians either in Macedonia or outside of it”, said VMRO-DPMNE.
