Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski reiterated on Tuesday his position on the constitutional amendments, that this is not a decision of the Government, but a decision for the citizens and for the state, and that everyone should have before him first the interest of the citizens, the interest of future generations, and then the personal political interest.
“If one decided to isolate themselves and if they also decided to isolate their political party, that one cannot and has no right to isolate the entire country. What we have before us are decisions to continue the path to full membership in the EU. Even after that decision, there will be more difficult decisions because those reforms are not simple. These are reforms that all EU member states have passed. But through those reforms, through such decisions, they built a better society,” Kovachevski said at the joint press conference with MEP and leader of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the EP Iratxe García Pérez.
