From March to August 2022, MPs in the Parliament were paid MKD 11,745,825 for travel expenses, the opposition party Levica said on Tuesday.

“While the people are going through a crisis that threatens people’s families and lives, the high political class continues to cherish their own privileges! MPs from all parliamentary parties, except Levica, continue the practice of privileged and criminal behavior for their own benefit, at the cost of harming the citizens,” reads the party’s press release.

The opposition party recalls that it submitted a proposal to equalize MP travel expenses with the value of bus tickets, as well as to reform the structure and reduce toll prices, but the majority did not support them either.
