Mayor of the municipality of Kumanovo, Maksim Dimitrievski, in last night’s interview with Alfa TV’s political show, stressed that the coalition before the elections of the citizens’ initiative “For our Kumanovo” will be a coalition with the citizens.
“Citizens are tired of the continuous coalitions that are offered in continuity, primarily because they are interest coalitions for the exercise of power. We want to take responsibility that will bring this country out of crisis, we don’t want to just exercise power,” Dimitrievski said.
Regarding the political situation in the country, he emphasized that politics has divided the citizens as a people and gave an example of the functioning of the citizens’ initiative during the local elections where the chief of staff was from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE, and the deputy chief of staff was from SDSM.
“The chief of staff was the former chief of staff of VMRO-DPMNE, the deputy chief of staff was the former chief of staff of SDSM, and the members of the staff were mostly politically undecided. Both the Chief of Staff and the Deputy Chief of Staff are relatives, first cousins, and due to politics they have not spoken for more than 20 years. They merged in our Kumanovo. Politics has divided us greatly as a people. In every family there are people, family members who are at loggerheads over politics. It’s time to unite them. There are too few of us Macedonians, generally all of us who live in Macedonia, to be divided on political grounds. Therefore, I think that this alternative that we will offer will primarily force both the left and the right to sit down at the same table, to sign a joint declaration, to define the Macedonian red lines in the area of national interests, and to never be worried again over who will rule the country, whether one or the other”, Dimitrievski pointed out.
