Electricity prices to go down for 99.2 percent of households, VAT will increase between 5 percent and 10 percent, says ERC

The price of electricity for small consumers and for 99.2% of households will decrease, said the director of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Marko Bislimovski, and added that, however, the VAT will increase from 5% to 10% starting January 1.

“When we made the decisions, we took into account the protection of the environment, the standard of living and the signal sent by consumers, especially households, and the fact is that they have been saving lately,” said Bislimoski and added that, from the first, second and third blocks, households they will pay an almost identical bill with the increase in VAT.

The total price for small consumers decreases by 20.15% from January 1. These are small shops, hairdressers, barbershops, small cafes, companies that need this help. Among households, the price for the first block decreases by 4.11%, for the second block by 2.95%, for the third block it is corrected and increases by 0.85% and for the fourth block the price increases by 7.65%.
