Food Agency conducts extraordinary inspection in the Pelagonija student dorm kitchen

The inspection services of the Food and Veterinary Agency (AHV), in cooperation with the Center for Public Health and representatives from the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate, this morning, after receiving a notification about possible food poisoning in the student dormitory Pelagonija, performed an extraordinary inspection control in the dorm’s kitchen.

The kitchen is temporarily closed by food inspectors. Measures have been ordered for general cleaning and disinfection of the building. For laboratory testing, six samples of the food that was served and eight swabs from the work surfaces and equipment were taken, according to the announcement from the Food and Veterinary Agency.

The kitchen, as indicated by the AHV, will be put back into use after receiving the laboratory findings that will confirm the safety and after the inspection by the inspectors that will confirm that all the ordered measures have been taken to remove the inconsistencies found.
