I am not worried that we will have transatlantic and pan-European unity and solidarity this year as well, but I wonder if it will be maintained when the war in Ukraine ends, and that is key for democracy to prevail over autocracy, Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski stressed at today’s panel session “In Defense of Europe”, which takes place within the framework of the World Economic Forum held in Davos.
“If we once again give priority to the national interests of the states, then this unity and solidarity will disappear. If democracies do not stick together and stay together, respecting the same values and fighting for them sometimes literally, then autocracies will prevail. We must have complete unity and solidarity even after the war in Ukraine,” President Pendarovski said.
