The assigned public prosecutor from the Veles Public Prosecutor’s Office submitted an indictment against a 30-year-old man from Veles for serious crimes against the safety of people and property in traffic, as well as for not assisting a person injured in a traffic accident.
“The accused, on 17.12.2022 with a Mercedes vehicle, although intoxicated and approaching a marked pedestrian crossing, did not respect the traffic signs. He drove at about 68 km/h, where there was a traffic sign for a maximum speed of 30 km/h. He did not pay attention to the pedestrians and hit a mother and daughter with the car who were crossing a pedestrian crossing at that moment. As a result of the impact, the mother suffered a physical injury on her forehead. The girl, on the other hand, was thrown about 10 meters forward, to the next pedestrian crossing, where she fell, suffered numerous serious injuries in the area of the head and limbs, and died,” reads the statement of the Veles PPO.
