The decree on the bilingualism of police uniforms is contrary to the opinion of the Venice Commission, it illegally bypasses the basic principle in the police of the uniqueness of the uniform, and the only European example of multilingual uniforms is the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the opposition political party Levica on Wednesday.
Last year, Levica submitted an initiative to the Constitutional Court for the evaluation of the constitutionality and legality of this decree, which the Constitutional Court has not yet considered.
In the initiative, Levica states that since there is a single composition of the police on the territory of the entire country, making differences in uniforms means a direct threat to the unitary character, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of the country.
