Two Macedonian candidates for mayor of Pustec Municipality in Albania

Albania has started the pre-election campaign for the local elections that will be held on May 14. Two Macedonians are running for the municipality of Pustec, in the area of Mala Prespa, where the Macedonian population is the majority.
The current Mayor Pali Kolefski, as a joint candidate of the ruling Socialist Party and the Macedonian Alliance for European Integration, says that he expects great support from the citizens and victory in order to realize all the started projects.
His opponent is Pandi Jani, who received support from the Freedom Party of former Albanian President Ilir Meta.
At the start of the campaign, Jani promised a new face, a clean and modern municipality of Pustec, which will turn into a real tourist center.
Forty-eight political parties will participate in the elections, 141 candidates will compete for the post of mayor in 61 municipalities.
