The Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska is among the highest paid mayors in the region. According to the data published by Serbian N1, she ranks third among the mayors from the former Republic of Yugoslavia. According to the monthly salary, only the mayors of Ljubljana and Zagreb are paid more than Arsovska.
The salary of the Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, is 2,696 euros, as for the Mayor of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomasević, his salary adds up to 2,318 euros per month. Arsovska’s salary of is 2,036 euros per month.
The mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac, is paid 1,562 euros per month, while the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, earns 1,510 euros per month.
The lowest salary compared to the larger cities in the region is paid to the Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Šapić – 1,399 euros.
