The Macedonian Association for Safety at Work, which traditionally, starting from 2008, on the occasion of April 28, publishes an Annual Report on accidents at work.
In 2022, 169 accidents at work were recorded, but according to the Association, this number is conservative and does not reflect the actual number of more serious accidents at the workplace, which on average according to the data of the Institute of Public Health until 2020 is somewhere around 1500 seriously injured per year level.
According to the data, 22 serious accidents at the workplace had fatal consequences. Following this number of dead employees, the rate of deaths at work in Macedonia is 3.17, that is, for every 100,000 employees, three employees will die at the workplace in 2022. This death rate is in a slight decline compared to the previous year 2021, when it was 3.77.
