Four Macedonian citizens evacuated from Sudan

Four Macedonian nationals were evacuated on Saturday from conflict-hit Sudan. The evacuation was carried out with the assistance of authorities of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Sunday.

The evacuated Macedonian citizens are currently in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The Macedonian embassy in Abu Dhabi is in contact with the Saudi authorities regarding their return to the country.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs carefully monitors the development of the situation in Sudan and is in communication with countries that have their own diplomatic consular representations in the country. In this regard, we appeal to our citizens who are in the territory of Sudan to contact the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Abu Dhabi at the following phone number +971 56 441 7532 and e-mail address [email protected], the Embassy of The Republic of North Macedonia in Cairo at the following phone number +201033615542 and e-mail address [email protected], as well as the hotline number + 389 75 273 732 and the e-mail address [email protected],” reads the press release.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that a total of 4,879 people have been evacuated from Sudan, of which 139 are Saudis, and the rest are from 96 countries around the world.
