The Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia (CMEM) appealed to its members and to all media to adhere to professional standards when reporting on the murder of pupils at the elementary school “Vladimir Ribnikar” in Belgrade, Serbia.

In addressing the media, the SEMM reminds of the basic principles (Articles 1, 7, 8 and 15 of the Journalists Code), which require reporting responsibly, without sensationalism, without unnecessary details and speculations about the tragedy.

“To report only verified information and official sources, with respect for the victims, the privacy and the pain of the families”, said the SEMM in its press release.
