The vice-president of VMRO-DPMNE Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska commented on the state of the budget in the interview with Republika.mk. According to the opposition official, the budget will boast about 200 million euros due to reduced VAT collection.
What fills the budget are the contributions, because even though these salaries have a lower value than previous years, due to the fact that they are higher, the contributions are of a larger amount.
“Revenues for 2023 were supposed to be 16 percent higher than last year, and the realization shows that as of May, they are 14 percent lower, that is, we are not filling the budget as it should be. If the economy continues to move along the same line, there will be 200 million euros less VAT collection that will be added to the budget. On the other hand, there is a higher collection of personal income tax and profit tax, but they can collect around 40 million euros. So, 160 million euros are worth it again,” said Dimitrieska-Kochoska.
