Former Centar Mayor Vladimir Todorovikj arrested for abuse of office and money laundering

Former mayor of the Skopje municipality Centar and owner of the Tinex chain of markets Vladimir Todorovikj was detained at the Skopje airport, the Ministry of Interior confirmed on Friday.

Five more people were detained in the action. Vladimir Zdravev, the former president of the Center Municipality Council, was detained at the Tabanovce border crossing.

The Ministry of Interior says that on Thursday afternoon and during the evening by police officers from the Ministry of Interior – Department for the Suppression of Organized and Serious Crime, by order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and by the order of a judge of a preliminary procedure, five people were arrested in connection with art. 273 paragraph 5 and art. 353 paragraph 5 of the Criminal Code. The persons were arrested and detained at the police station and during the day they will be brought before a judge for preliminary proceedings.
