The president of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM), Slobodan Trendafilov, stressed in a TV interview that at the request of the Minister of Finance, a meeting should be held at the level of government ministers and presidents of unions and confederations to discuss overcoming the transition period.
“At the last session of the ESS, we stated that in the name of solidarity, the officials should show a good step and return their salaries before the decision of the Constitutional Court. Not that we want to take their wages, but we want to take the same wages. In September, if we agree on an increase or adjustment of salaries in the public sector, it should apply to the employee in the highest position and to the president. We, as union representatives, cannot allow the officials on 78% increased salaries to receive a certain percentage increase in September,” said Trendafilov.
