“No” to the merged concession for the Ilovica-Stuka mine – Shtuka will not yield an inch of ground to destruction,” said the citizens of Strumica at a protest on Saturday.
Strumica residents organized by the Environmental Association “Zdrava Kotlina” – Strumica and the Environmental Association “Eko Dolina” – Novo Selo protested against the opening of the mine for copper and gold and demanded that the institutions prevent the opening of the mine.
The reaction of the associations comes, as they explain, after the merger of the two concessions for the Ilovica-Shtuka mine by the Government that decided to revise and extend the merger deadlines without any legal basis.
