VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition partners informed the ministers of the Weimar Triangle they remain on the position that constitutional amendments under political dictate from the neighborhood are unacceptable.
The role of neighbors should be one of support to our European integration not denial of the Macedonian national identity, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski and representatives of coalition partners told France’s Minister of State for Europe Laurence Boone, Minister of State for Europe and Climate in Germany’s Federal Foreign Office Anna Lührmann, and Poland’s Minister for the European Union Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.
They said the opposition was not involved in the negotiations that resulted in ultimatums and demands that go beyond European values and principles.
Therefore, in order to protect the accession process from bilateralization, relations must be based on the Copenhagen criteria, mutual respect, support and cooperation, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release on Tuesday.
