Crime decreased by 12.9 percent in the first six months of 2023

The Macedonian Minister of Interior, Oliver Spasovski, informed via social media today that there was a decrease in crime in the first six months of the year by 12.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

“The security situation is generally stable, with no recorded incidents of a wider scale, while the total crime rate is 536 calculated per 100,000 inhabitants, and it has decreased compared to the same period last year, when it was 615.4,” said Spasovski in a Facebook post.

During this period, 9,844 crimes were registered compared to last year when 11,304 crimes were registered.
