Macedonia is in 22nd place out of a total of 53 ranked countries in the world in terms of wine production for 2022, according to data from the International Wine Organization. Last year, 936 hectoliters of wine were produced in the country, or 0.36 percent of the total world production.
Three European countries produce half of the world’s total wine production. According to the data of the International Wine Organization, a total of 258.2 million hectoliters of wine were produced last year.
The world’s largest producer was Italy with 49.8 million hectoliters of wine, which is enough to fill 1,994 Olympic swimming pools with this fine beverage.
