In July 2023, the trend of less payment of value added tax, which was present in the first half of the year, continued. Last month, according to the data of the Public Revenue Administration, almost 24 million euros less than planned for July were collected. If we add to this that in the first half of the year there was an 88 million euro lower inflow from VAT in the state budget, in seven months the sum of 112 million euros less than the basic tax from which the state is financed is reached.
The first half of the year is the second worst result in VAT collection compared to the same periods in the last ten years.
