Gabriel Escobar, US Department of State’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and Special Representative to the Western Balkans, met Thursday afternoon with President Stevo Pendarovski and expressed official Washington’s expectation that Macedonia would continue on the path to full membership in the European Union.
According to an official press release, Escobar also confirmed the USA’s support for the European aspirations of the country. During their meeting, Pendarovski and Escobar talked about the next steps North Macedonia should take to make progress in the EU integration process.
