Residues of the pesticide formethanate were found in peppers coming from Macedonia. The risk is serious, Croatian media reports. The presence of the banned toxic pesticide was immediately reported on Wednesday in the European rapid alert system in the food trade, the Danica website reports.

The banned toxic pesticide formethanate has been detected in vegetables imported from N. Macedonia to Croatia, the European rapid warning system in food trade has announced.

“Residues of the pesticide formatenate were found in peppers from Macedonia. The risk is serious,” reads the report.
