APPT: USD 229 million were realized from the tourist turnover in six months

Tourist turnover also showed growth in the second quarter of 2023 and amounts to 136 million dollars in the Macedonian economy, with a growth of 28% compared to the same period in 2022. The first two quarters in 2023 have a growth of 24% compared to the previous year, i.e. 229 million dollars inflow from tourism turnover in the GDP.

“How does tourism contribute to the economy?” It creates jobs, strengthens the local economy, contributes to the development of local infrastructure and can help preserve the natural environment and cultural assets and traditions, as well as reduce poverty and inequality,” said the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism of Macedonia (APPT).
