Customs officers prevented smuggling of 50 packs of cigarettes that a Greek national bought at a free-shop and wanted to bring into the Republic of N. Macedonia through the Bogorodica border crossing without declaring them, the Customs Administration informed on Friday.

The total value of the packs of cigarettes is MKD 85,900, while the total customs duties that the person wanted to avoid are MKD 60,900, reported the Customs.

The Customs officers discovered the cigarette packs in the factory cavities behind the upholstery of the rear doors of the vehicle in which the Greek national was traveling. A misdemeanor charge has been filed against the suspect.
