In a TV report on MTV on the topic of preventing illegal logging and devastation of forests with the help of helicopters from the Department of Aviation Units at the Ministry of the Interior, the Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski informed that in addition to preventive measures, repressive measures are also being seriously worked on to detect illegal logging.
“The Air Force Department along with special police units move to potential places where we have reports of forest devastation and we directly find and arrest them on the spot. We had several actions in Skopje, Struga, etc. It is a modus operandi that the police officers work on, to be able to go to places where they are and carry out illegal logging – they are caught on the spot and here we practically provide all the evidence for this crime work,” Spasovski pointed out.
