The judiciary must not be subjected to political pressure and the other branches of power must not be allowed to interfere in the adoption of judicial decisions that have to be based on the legislation, concluded the president of the Supreme Court, Besa Ademi, and the Ambassador of the United States of America, Angela Aggeler, at a meeting Wednesday, which was also attended by other judges from the highest judicial body.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the independence of the judiciary is the strongest guarantee for the rule of law and that the integrity of the judges is a key factor for realizing the principles of an independent judiciary.
“The judiciary must not be subjected to political pressure and the other branches of power must not be allowed to interfere in the adoption of judicial decisions that have to be based on the legislation,” said the Supreme Court head.
