Customs agents at the Blace border have prevented an attempt to illegally put onto the local market 355,000 Macedonian denars’ worth of power tools and mobile phone accessories, the Customs Administration said in a press release.

According to the release, two Macedonian citizens’ vehicles were selected for a detailed inspection after they crossed the border from Kosovo into North Macedonia.

In the trunk of the first car, customs officers found undeclared power tools worth MKD 83,841 that the driver would have had to pay customs duties on amounting to MKD 16,241.

The smuggled goods have been seized and charges have been filed, the release adds.
