The mechanical and executive staff of the Railways of RNM Transport started a boycott as of Friday at 4 p.m. with a complete halt of the railway work due to unpaid travel expenses for the last month, said Toni Dimovski, representative of the mechanical executive staff and president of the Union of Train Drivers in the railway company.
Dimovski announced that passenger and freight trains will not run, and the first train that was stopped was the one on the route from the capital Skopje to Gevgelija in the south of the border with Greece, which was supposed to leave at 4:55 p.m. on Friday.
“The management has been informed and promises that the funds will be released as of Monday, but the decision of the mechanical and executive staff for the boycott remains,” Dimovski said.
