The average monthly net wage paid per employee in September 2023 was MKD 37,876, which is 16.4 percent higher than in September 2022, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office.
According to the release, the increase was due to higher average monthly net salaries in the sectors: Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply (25.8%); Public Administration and Defense, Compulsory Social Security (24.8%); and Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities (20.5%). Compared to August, higher September paychecks were given to workers in the sectors: Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply (11.8%); Education (10.9%); and Public Administration and Defense, Compulsory Social Security (9.1%).
